Allied Finishes recently completed a project to transform the production room of a food facility in a large dairy facility in Canberra. The goal of the project was to bring the area up to compliance with Australian Food and health regulations and to increase the safety of the production staff.
The production area had a raised base for machinery, with a worn and dangerous step leading up to it. There was also a grate below the step that was no longer required. Additionally, the machine leg bases needed to be filled in to prevent water from entering and making it difficult to clean.
The project had to be completed over a short weekend period, in time for production to resume on Monday. Despite the tight timeline, the Allied Finishes team was able to deliver an exceptional result that exceeded the client’s expectations.
The production room was transformed into a safe and efficient area, with a significant decrease in the risk of slips, trips and falls. The upgrade has also reduced safety downtime in the area, allowing staff to work more productively.
The project involved several key steps. First, our team conducted a thorough assessment of the production area, identifying the hazards and risks that needed to be addressed. We then developed a detailed project plan that included filling the machine leg bases, removing the unnecessary grate and upgrading the worn step by forming a new step, filling it and finishing it with a safe, non-slip finish.
The client was extremely satisfied with the final result, which exceeded their expectations in terms of both safety and efficiency. They were particularly impressed with Allied Finishes’ attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality solution. The upgrade has made a significant difference in the production room, making it a safer and more productive environment for staff.
Allied Finishes’ experience in the food and beverage industry was instrumental in developing and installing a solution that met the client’s needs. The team understood the importance of complying with food and health regulations, as well as the need to prioritize the safety of the production staff.
